How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”
Romans 10:14-15 ESV
He is Risen!!
Greetings to all our wonderful family, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ.
What a wonderful month. Full of fellowship, worship, remembrance, vitality and renewal. Like most of your families, this month was a special month celebrating the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Traditionally, we are awaiting the Holy Spirit to descend upon the apostles and so we are in a state of prayer to connect our lives with the scriptures.
This past month the youth held a large gathering that included young people from 4 different areas that are all being ministered to from within the congregation. While I focus on the youth from within our churches in Ciorani and Valeni, our other brothers and sisters are involved in ministering to youth in Draganesti, a village nearby, and the orphans living in Bucharest. We held a gathering for them all and shared the Gospel, had a deep dive discussion session, prayed and played games. My group of boys were shared how they desired God, desired an increase in faith, and desired to overcome Sin in their lives. What beautiful thoughts and noble desires. Amen and Amen to those Holy thoughts. I invite you to pray for these young men who desire these things and pray for their spiritual leaders that guide them regularly to evaluate their walk be worthy of the sacrifice of our Lord and God.
As for our Youth in Valeni, they have been digging deep in Romans. We are currently in Chapter 10 and as we have focused on the grace of God, we have crossed paths with the ideas of personal righteousness, cheap vs precious Grace, the victory over sin through grace, and many other ideas we are blessed to have through scripture and the Apostle Paul’s writings.
One of the most memorable moments of the large youth gathering was during our lunch break, the youth of Valeni which I regularly teach and lead, wanted to jump discussion leaders to come into my group. Isn’t that such a wonderful feeling. To their annoyance, I responded with, “Then your going to miss out on what this leader has to teach you from what the Lord put on their hearts specifically for you.” After they had their session with their assigned leader they told me how great their time with that leader was and how they heard some very personal reflections that the Lord used to speak to them. What a confirmation to trust the way God has set things in motion for us. I almost want to use the following space to preach now but I’ll simply say God is great.
The following month will be full of plans and preparation for the summer activities. I invite you to pray with us for a Calvary Chapel Romania conference being held in July 5-8. We expect a wonderful time and the Lord to pour into the families that attend. We also have more large youth gatherings planned, more woman’s gathers to honor and create a time for our ladies to have a special time to be ministered to, and also nature outings.
Our family is doing well. Everyone is healthy, praise the lord. We’re focusing on end of school year pushes, transitions to college, transitions to 1st grade for Ilinca all while keeping our fingers on the pulse of our relationship with the Lord. Whenever I feel stressed or overwhelmed, my initial desire is to shutdown, In the Marines we were taught this is going internal, and so as a trained response we immediately look to our brothers in arms and engage with them so that we do whatever needs to be done together as a unit. Now, I look to Jesus, instead of going internal, I let Him be my strength so that what lives is Christ in me, and in my weakness His strength flows (Colossians 1:27,2 Corinthians 12:9).
