Kazakhstan, a Central Asian country and former Soviet republic, extends from the Caspian Sea in the west to the Altai Mountains at its eastern border with China and Russia.
Out of 18,777,000 inhabitants, 4,852,000 of them are Christians. We could say that this is a high percentage of Christians compared to other persecuted countries. But even so, the persecution level is very high.
The least persecuted Christians are the ones belonging to the Russian Orthodox church because they’re usually not oriented towards evangelizing the Muslims. The most persecuted Christians in Kazakhstan are the ones that have a Muslim background. Some of them are locked up by their families, beaten and even expelled by their communities.
Let us come to the throne of our gracious Father and ask Him to help all the persecuted Christians to stay strong in faith, to protect them and their families. Also, let us pray that God would change the hearts of the leaders of Kazakhstan.
