CHAIRPERSON’S MESSAGE: Dear Friends and Supporters,
Greetings to you in the name of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ.
I trust this newsletter finds you in good health and high spirits. India is currently experiencing a wave of achievements that fills our hearts with pride. From the Chandrayan-III mission’s bold strides in space exploration to India’s diplomatic finesse showcased at the G-20, and not to forget the outstanding performances of our athletes at the Asian Games, our nation continues its ascent to greater heights. These remarkable developments serve as a wellspring of inspiration for our girls, who are also achieving milestones that make us proud.
As we come together once again for our quarterly update, I am delighted to share the latest news from Michael Job Centre. In reflecting on the past few months, I am deeply grateful for the unwavering protection and well-being that have embraced us. It is with humility that I acknowledge the divine watchfulness that has guided each and every one of us at the Michael Job Centre, ensuring our safety and security day in and day out. In the midst of our mission to provide education and shelter to underprivileged girls, we are acutely aware of the precious gift of safety and good health. It is this blessing that allows us to nurture the hopes and dreams of these bright young minds. We firmly believe that God’s grace is what keeps us strong and steadfast in our commitment to these girls and their futures.
Our girls from the Michael Job College of Arts and Science and Michael Job Matriculation Higher Secondary School have made us proud. They have shown their incredible sporting talent by clinching victory after victory. We had also organized an art camp which helped the students strike a balance between their academics and extracurricular activities. Their medical needs are also kept in check as we have organized an eye camp to keep their vision in check.
I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you who have played a crucial role in supporting our mission. Your kindness and generosity are a testament to the goodness that exists in the world, and we are truly blessed to have you as part of our extended family. As the festive season of Christmas approaches, we extend a heartfelt invitation to you to be a part of the warmth and joy that we aim to share with our students. At the Michael Job Centre, we cherish a cherished tradition each year – ensuring that every one of our students receives a complete set of clothing and uniforms.
It’s a tradition that goes beyond mere attire; it symbolizes care, dignity, and a sense of belonging. Your generous donations, filled with warmth and compassion, make this tradition possible. They not only provide clothing but also bring radiant smiles to the faces of these underprivileged girls during this special season of celebration and togetherness. Your support truly adds a touch of magic to their lives, making the holidays even more memorable. Your generosity has been instrumental in shaping the lives of these young girls, and we are profoundly grateful for your unwavering support. As we look forward to the New Year, let’s continue to stand together and make a difference in the lives of these aspiring individuals.
As we offer you a glimpse into our recent endeavors, we are eager to convey the profound impact that your generous contributions have had on the lives of these extraordinary young girls. Your unwavering support is the driving force behind these remarkable transformations, illuminating the path toward a brighter future for these promising individuals. In the pages that follow, you will find stories of achievement, resilience, and hope. Together, we are making a difference in the lives of these young girls, and for that, we are forever grateful.
Creative Sparks Ignite at Art Camp – Students Shine in Fashion Show
From August 21st to 25th, our Michael Job Centre hosted an exhilarating Art Camp that left everyone in awe. It was headed by three well-wishers – Ms. Gesine, Ms. Julia and Ms. Karen. During the camp, our talented students showcased their creativity by crafting impressive monuments and lifelike mannequins using nothing but newspaper and a dash of imagination. But the excitement didn’t stop there! On the camp’s final day, we witnessed a spectacular Fashion Show competition that saw three spirited houses – Blue, Green, and Red – go head-to-head. What made it even more special? The challenge was to design the entire ensemble using jute sacks, transforming ‘waste’ into ‘wealth’ with every stitch. The costumes required both a veil and a cape, adding an extra layer of creativity to the mix. Ultimately, it was the Green House that claimed victory, but the real winners were the students themselves, who showcased immense talent and hard work throughout the event. These budding artists and designers truly stole the spotlight and left us all inspired by their remarkable abilities.
Eye Check-Up Camp
We had a truly special day at the Michael Job Centre on August 3, 2023, thanks to the generous support of Aravind Eye Hospital. Together, we organized an eye check-up camp that touched the lives of all the girls in our care. Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to Aravind Eye Hospital for making this camp possible and for their unwavering commitment to the well-being of our students. Their sponsorship allowed us to bring vital eye care services right to our doorstep. But that’s not all! On this remarkable day, five of our students received the gift of clearer vision with free eyeglasses. It’s moments like these that remind us of the power of community and kindness in making a meaningful difference in the lives of these young girls.
Know Your World: Students Dive into Current Affairs
In our ongoing quest to keep our students updated with the ever-changing world, we recently launched an exciting initiative called ‘Know Your World.’ This initiative empowers our students to explore and gather information about the latest big news and then share their findings with their peers. It’s all about fostering knowledge and keeping pace with the fast-moving world around us. We’ve already had two engaging sessions, where our students delved into the topics of the G20 and how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping our world. We’re excited to see our students thrive as they continue their journey of discovery and learning.
